NACCHO Successfully Advocates for Supplemental Funding for H1N1 Influenza Response

Congress has approved and the President has signed a bill providing $350 million for state and local response to H1N1 influenza.  Click here to view the letter sent by NACCHO and the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials requesting emergency supplemental appropriations to support state and local H1N1 influenza response.

 
Local Health Department Budget Cuts and Job Losses

NACCHO surveyed local health departments nationally in November-December 2008 to assess the impact of current economic conditions on their budgets and workforce. The final report, including state-by-state data, is available.
