Recognizing NACCHO's Star Members
Volunteer's Contributions Make a Difference
NACCHO has designated April as volunteer recognition month. On behalf of NACCHO's board of directors, officers, and staff, we take this opportunity to thank our star members who donate time, energy, and expertise to help fulfill NACCHO's mission in many different ways. Their important contributions make a different to NACCHO, local health departments (LHDs), and the nation's health. Who are NACCHO's Star Members? In 2010–2011, NACCHO's 41 advisory groups were made up of approximately 310 health officials and staff from LHDs throughout the United States. Volunteers guide activities, policy, influence NACCHO's projects and priorities, and work towards NACCHO's vision of "health, equity, and well-being for all people in their communities through public health policies and services." And Become a Star Member
Each Spring, NACCHO invites members to apply to be appointed to one of our 41 advisory groups. It is a great opportunity for people from all areas of public health to come together and explore the many facets of the field and help NACCHO make the best decision in serving its members of local health.
