National Identity for Public Health Departments

Local governmental health departments historically lack a universally-recognized visual identity. Many health departments have their own logos, but some do not.

In response, NACCHO developed a national identity for public health departments to raise awareness of the value of governmental public health. This branding effort offers health departments a common visual symbol and thematic message, which has the potential to unify governmental public health departments, and promote the value of public health to all members of the community. Only when all health departments across the country embrace the national identity will the goal to become universally recognized and understood be achieved.
