National Pandemic Influenza Strategy
The November edition was published prior to the President’s announcement on November 1, 2005, of the National Pandemic Influenza Strategy and November 2, 2005 release of the HHS Pandemic Influenza Plan. These documents can be accessed at http://pandemicflu.gov. In addition, the President made a $7.1 billion funding proposal. That proposal includes $100 million for state and local pandemic influenza preparedness, an amount substantially less than the $600 million that the Senate has voted for that purpose. NACCHO will be working hard to gain Congressional support for the larger number.
