NACCHO Internship Program
|
NACCHO Internship Program Program Description NACCHO has a year round internship program for interested individuals with a minimum of one year of college-level courses and a minimum of one year working in an office setting. Internships may differ depending on the division or program within NACCHO hosting the intern. At minimum, internships run for three months, with a maximum of six months. NACCHO has two types of positions: full-time and part-time. Full-time positions are from 30–37.5 hours per week (4–5 days a week, 7.5 hours a day), and pay a stipend for the semester of $1,500. The number of hours worked within the range is determined by the intern in conjunction with NACCHO staff. The duration of the semester is determined at the beginning of the internship. Application Process
Each applicant will need to submit a cover letter and resume detailing academic history and employment skills that are relevant to the desired internship position. Applications can be submitted via e-mail, fax, or U.S. mail. Select applicants will be called for an interview, during which time they will be required to bring two (2) letters of recommendation from a college professor and/or employer. Applicants may also be required to bring a writing sample or be asked to take a writing test at the end of their interview. Applicants will be notified 2–3 weeks after the application due date. Internships may begin at the start of the school semester. Specific dates will be discussed during the interview. Due to space limitations NACCHO can only accept a maximum of four interns per semester. It is important to begin the internship request process on or before the dates listed above. |
