Keeping Fit at NA11

Do you have a hard time fitting in exercise when you travel? Ever feel drained after a day indoors? Physical activity is an important part of keeping our bodies healthy, but sometimes maintaining a routine in new places can be difficult. Luckily, NACCHO Annual offers several activities and options for you to keep your body moving during the conference:

  • Walking tours of historical landmarks in downtown Hartford are scheduled for 6:00 to 7:00 AM on the mornings of Thursday, July 21, and Friday, July 22. Join in to learn more about the history of Hartford and to start your day right with some moderate activity.

  • Salsa dancing lessons will be provided during the New England-style barbeque at the Boathouse. This social event will be held the evening of Thursday, July 21, from 7:00 to 10:00 PM. Be prepared to kick up your feet and show off your dance moves.

  • Walk or bike the trails of beautiful Riverside Park, near the Connecticut River. Riverside Park is located next to the Convention Center, providing easy access for attendees.

  • Check out the fitness facilities at your hotel. The Hartford Marriott Downtown fitness center has cardiovascular equipment, free weights, and an indoor pool. The Hilton Hartford also has a fitness room and pool.

Don’t forget to bring comfortable shoes and drink plenty of water to stay hydrated. Make the most of your NACCHO Annual experience by staying active.
