NA11 Conference Tracks
This year’s conference theme, “Moving Public Health Forward in Challenging Times,” focuses on the importance for LHDs to be prepared to manage challenging priorities before crises arise. Sessions have been divided into conference tracks that address the many aspects of the conference theme.
Policy and System Changes—Impacts and Opportunities
These sessions will focus on the ever-changing legislative agendas and the most recent impacts from healthcare reform initiatives.
Marketing to Improve Public Health Perception
These sessions will show what LHDs can do to enhance their capacities to market public health systems through promoting the role of LHDs in improving public health and marketing and communications around health promotion, disease prevention, and the presence of LHDs in such efforts.
Best Practices and Their Impact on the Six Winnable Battles
The sessions will showcase emerging and best practices, methods, and programs that show the value and contributions of LHDs towards achieving progress on the six winnable battles.
Back to the Basics: Prevention
These sessions will showcase policies, programs, and stories that demonstrate how community preventive services and efforts can reduce disease and improve poor health.
Public Health Research
These sessions will present public health researchers with an opportunity to influence the practice of public health and help public health practitioners to learn from the research experiences of others and to apply what they learn to their own practice.
