QR Codes: I’m Supposed to Scan that with My Phone?

Don''t mistake that matrix looking box for a piece of art. A quick response code aka a "QR code," is a functioning two-dimensional code that can be scanned by a smart phone with a camera. Some smart phones require that you download software to scan the code, while others have it pre-loaded (for a list of popular apps, visit http://bit.ly/1dUIpu).

Aim. Click. Scan. Voíla! The information is quickly pulled up on your screen. This encrypted information could be anything—a link to a website, a phone number, text, and various other bits of information.

To learn more about QR codes, pick up a handout at the NACCHO social media table. If you already know how to scan a QR code, look for NACCHO''s social media poster, which displays various types of resources that have been turned into QR codes.

Have fun scanning!
