Using Twitter on a Mobile PhoneThere are multiple ways to use Twitter on a mobile phone during the conference, including text messaging, mobile Web, and apps. Twitter also provides FAQs about using Twitter from a phone.
You can set up a new Twitter account by texting “START” to 40404. Once you set up your account, you can update your status by texting it to 40404. You can also choose to have certain updates sent to your phone as a text.
You can turn off all updates from Twitter by texting “OFF” to 40404. Text “ON” to start receiving updates again.

You can access Twitter’s mobile website at m.twitter.com. There will be links on the site to sign in and also to sign up. You will need to enter in some basic information and create a Twitter username to sign up.
Once you are signed in, you can view tweets, update your status and change your settings. To view NACCHO Annual 2010 related tweets, find the Search Twitter box and enter in “#NA10”—the hashtag for the conference. You can also click on the hashtag in any tweet to see all #NA10 related tweets.

Many phones offer third-party apps you can download to access and use Twitter without texting or going on the mobile website. Check your apps market or store to find one. TweetDeck, HootSuite, Twidroid, Peep, and Twitter are some sample app names.
Once you download the app, you can open it and log in. Then you should see options to view tweets, create your own, and more. Use a search option to look up “#NA10”. You can also follow @NACCHOalerts for updates about the conference and more. Click on the hashtag “#NA10” to see all #NA10 related tweets.
