Elizabeth Ransopher, RS/BS


Elizabeth Ransopher, RS/BS Public Health Program Manager II/Workforce Development Coordinator
Columbus Public Health , OH

Ms. Ransopher has 20 years of experience working for local public health departments in the areas of emergency preparedness, environmental health and public health. Since 2003 she has been the Workforce Development Coordinator in the Office of Emergency Preparedness at Columbus Public Health (CPH). In this position she plans for, prepares, implements, and evaluates trainings and exercises for the public health workforce. Ms. Ransopher was the Project Manager for a Shigella Outbreak Intervention Task Force in 2009. She is also a member of the Incident Command System staff serving as a Liaison Officer for the Spring H1N1 response and as a Functional Team Leader in Training and Education for the Fall H1N1 response. She has several years of experience planning for and conducting educational trainings, conference sessions and workshops in various topics within emergency, environmental and public health. In 2004 she participated in the Ohio Preparedness Leadership Institute where she facilitated a team that developed a plan for Food Security at Outdoor Events. In 2005 she presented the Food Security project at the National Environmental Health Association?s annual meeting, as well as the Ohio Public Health Association?s annual meeting. Prior to working at CPH, Ms. Ransopher worked at the Delaware General Health District for thirteen years. As a Registered Sanitarian working on environmental health and public health initiatives, she specialized in areas such as emergency preparedness, radon, lead, and retail food operational inspections. Ms. Ransopher is an active member of several local and national Public Health and Environmental Health Associations and currently serves as a representative to the National Association of County and City Health Officials Workforce and Development Leadership Strategic Development Team.
