Donna L. Brown, JD, MPH has been Government Affairs Counsel and Senior Advisor for Public Affairs at the National Association of County and City Health Officials since 1997. She previously served for five years as Director of Policy Affairs at the American College of Preventive Medicine. Prior to that, she practiced law with a large private firm in Washington, DC, specializing in federal administrative and legislative work. She has held positions in health policy and government affairs at other nonprofit organizations, including the Childrenâ??s Defense Fund, the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and the National Association of Counties. She also served a six-year term as an appointed member of the D.C. General Hospital Commission. Brown received her BA and MPH degrees from Yale University and her law degree from Georgetown University, where she served as an editor of the Georgetown Law Journal.
