Sari Siegel-Spieler, Ph.D., the Assistant Vice President for Research at the National Association of Public Hospitals and Health Systems (NAPH), oversees day-to-day activities on a wide portfolio of research projects. Dr. Siegel-Spieler came to NAPH from the U.S. DHHS's Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, where she was a Service Fellow for the Center for Primary Care Research. Previously, she worked with state elected officials on safety net health care issues for the National Conference of State Legislatures and the Council of State Governments. The author of two books, "Primary Health Care and Vulnerable Populations" and "Access to Primary Health Care: Tracking the States," she has published additional work on health care disparities, cultural competency, emergency preparedness, and health care quality. Dr. Siegel-Spieler holds degrees in political science from Brandeis University and Rutgers University, and a doctorate in public policy from the University of Maryland.
