Description
Local health departments (LHDs) are uniquely positioned to plan and implement prevention activities to reduce the health and economic burdens associated with injuries and violence. In order to better understand injury and violence prevention activities within LHDs, NACCHO’s Injury Prevention Project queried several hundred LHDs. This research brief compiles and examines data from this questionnaire. It also characterizes injury prevention efforts and highlights the myriad of injury prevention-related services, programs, and resources provided by LHDs.
