AEAS is an exercise software program developed for the National Guard Bureau that enables individuals or groups to run table top and functional exercises by computer. The system will support up to 20 computers being linked by an internal intranet for exercise play.
The software has 14 weapons of mass destruction scenarios built into it. The program can be run using canned response resource data or a city, county or agency can input their own resources into a data base for a more real to life exercise event.
The AEAS software uses the Incident Command System for all exercise play. Public Health is an important and cirtical part of response during exercise play and is one of several player roles in the AEAS software.
After Action Review reports can be printed immediately after the exercise has ended allowing timely feedback for all exercise participants. The AEAS program allows the testing of local response plans and procedures without some of the usual planning needed to run these types of exercises. The software and all online support are provided free of charge by the National Guard Bureau.
