Jefferson County Comprehensive Plan

On August 14th, 2008 the Jefferson County Planning & Zoning Commission adopted the first installment of its new Comprehensive Plan. Following some additional tidying-up, the County plan with the SmartCode foundation is now officially on the books. The Health Action Plan called for the preparation of a plan promoting smarter development i.e., sustainable and healthier living and working environments for the citizens of Jefferson County. along with coordinating with the cities and the region, facilitating the mixing of different land uses within communities, and creating developments that are conducive to more physical activity and less dependency on cars!
