Avian Influenza Introductory Course

Description:

Aaron Wendelboe, PhD-candidate, MSPH at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, provides an overview of Avian Influenza.  This material is provided as an audio file.  Continuing education units can be applied for upon successful completion of the course materials.

Audience:

This module is applicable to all public health, medical, veterinary, pharmacy, emergency management, hospital and other professionals interested in public health preparedness. This module and the others like it on the UNC website are created by faculty and guest lecturers at the UNC-CH School of Public Health and are equivalent to graduate level content. 

Educational Objectives:

  • Understand how Avian Influenza is a threat to the public's health.
  • Understand what Avian Influenza is and how it relates to human influenza.
  • Understand the epidemiology and transmissibility of Avian Influenza.
