The purpose of the Southeast Idaho Regional Surge Capacity Annex for Health and Medical Services is to establish region-wide preparedness for a mass casualty or surge event by a regional response plan developed, maintained, and exercised through committed community partners dedicated to a trained network of professionals to preserve life.

Using this plan, LHDs will be able to describe the process for: sharing resources between response organizations; activating the response plan; operations parameters during the incident between participant institutions and field operations; termination of the incident; recovery; and the process for evaluating performance under the response plan.

This resource is comprehensive, easy to understand, and is applicable to health departments of any size.
