Women Be Healthy

Women Be Healthy is a health promotion intervention designed to empower women with developmental disabilities to obtain cervical and breast cancer screening. The program includes 90-minute psycho-educational classes, once/weekly with 7 weeks of instruction (8th week is graduation). Content includes anatomy, cancer, importance of screenings, communicating with health care providers, and a field trip to a gynecologist office.
