This 22-page Epidemiological Investigation and Surveillance Plan was created in 2005 as evidence for Goal 1, Measure 1 of Project Public Health Ready (PPHR) by Arlington County Public Health Division.

A number of local public health preparedness practitioners have commented that the plan provides a good resource for any size health department. In particular, reviewers have praised the positioning of definitions near the front of the plan. Other local health departments can use this tool as a template to develop their own plans because the planning stages are explained systematically.
