Investments in Disease Prevention Yield Significant Savings, Stronger Communities

Description:

Trust for America's Health concludes that an investment of $10 per person per year in proven community-based disease prevention programs could yield net savings of more than $2.8 billion annually in health care costs in one to two years, more than $16 billion annually within five years, and nearly $18 billion annually in 10 to 20 years (in 2004 dollars).
