||Mass vaccination clinics in IL uses wristband strategy
|Description of Issue(s):
||We did 3 mass clinics last Monday night. In 5 hours, 10,600 were provided vaccine.
|Actions taken to address the issue(s):
||?Passed out 4,000 wristbands to quickly identify the first 4,000 and then be able to turn away 4,001 + before they stood in line for 2 hours. Have information to provide to those 4,001 + on where they can go for vaccine next.
?Used as much space inside hallways within PODs to provide for indoor lining up. It was cold and misty the night of the clinic.
?Incident Command System worked well for structure of staffing ? need to reinforce unified command role at clinic for quick decision making.
?Athletics booster club at one high school sold concessions at reasonable prices. Very well received by people in line and they made a killing!
|Outcomes that resulted from actions taken:
||?Need porta-potties along the line. Very long lines.
?Need lots more staff along the line to provide information and answer questions from people in line.
?Plan space within buildings for accommodating large strollers (new age strollers with off-road tires, room to pack enough provisions for a week and double or triple wide!)
?Clearly communication to those in line that to get a wristband, you need to fit in one of the priority groups
