||We are now finishing our second round of shots to children in more than 25 elementary schools and a few private school.
However, we are reaching out to blue collar worksites like General Foams Plastics (production factory) and NorshipCo BAE Systems (shipyard) because they may not have the time to take off from work so we took our H1N1 clinic to them.
We also recently attended Norfolk's Health and Fitness Expo. They did a great commercial promoting our free H1N1 clinic. Additionally, we set up a clinic at a "Higher Praise on the Waterside" gospel choir competition.
We also did another H1N1 clinic that was a little different than our normal sites - Norfolk International Airport. This event was unique because it allowed public health the opportunity to reach a variety of individuals, who, due to the confining nature of air travel, may be at an increased risk of contracting the H1N1 virus. Vaccines were given to pilots, flight crew members, vendors, baggage handlers, airport security, airport executives as well as passengers traveling throughout the United States and internationally. There were even some family members of passengers who received vaccine while waiting for arriving or departing flights.
