NACCHO Teen Pregnancy and HIV/STI Prevention Initiative: Effective Interventions for Local Health Departments
| | Concern for America's at-risk, sexually active youth prompted the Annie E. Casey Foundation (AECF) to develop Plain Talk/Hablando Claro – and evidence-based program with a unique approach to the prevention of teen pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases. Through support from the foundation, NACCHO is conducting activities designed to raise the awareness of local health departments aroung Plain Talk/Hablando Claro, with the goal of assisting local health departments in improving their Teen Pregnancy Prevention and HIV/STD prevention programs. NACCHO activities for this initiative include the following: - Surveying NACCHO members to assess knowledge of Plain Talk/Hablando Claro
- Conducting key informant interviews with programmatic staff in local health departments conducting teen pregnancy prevention and/or teen HIV/STD prevention programs
- Development of a NACCHO research brief highlighting local health departments involved in the implementation of Plain Talk/Hablando Claro in their communities
