Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) is the top cause of disability in the United States and is the signature injury of returning soldiers for Iraq and Afghanistan. It affects the lives of millions of Americans each year. Yet it still remains a mystery to most Americans and the doctors and healthcare professionals that serve these individuals. There is a national movement to bring awareness and services to survivors of TBI.
Traumatic Brain Injury is a life-changing event, where in more cases than not the survivors lose their relationships, jobs, homes and the essence of who they were right before their own eyes. Currently there is no national standard of care, and many cases go untreated.
