Resources for Flu Season
Local health departments play an important role in preventing cases of seasonal flu in their communities. NACCHO's influenza resources help to raise awareness about the benefits of the flu vaccine and provide tools to prepare for heightened flu activity during flu season.
In the Spotlight
Although the 2014-2015 flu season is drawing to a close, local health departments can start to prepare for next year's flu season by registering for the Flu Near You platform. Through Flu Near You, thousands of individuals submit weekly health reports to benefit their community's flu awareness and tracking. NACCHO is working with the Skoll Global Threats Fund to explore how local health departments may use Flu Near You data as part of ongoing local influenza surveillance efforts. If your local health department is interested in or already using Flu Near You data for local influenza surveillance efforts, email firstname.lastname@example.org. More »
