| Issue Summary: |
Incident management team proves critical |
| Description of Issue(s): |
On Tuesday, April 28, we established an Incident Management Team.? This turned out to be critical in managing who was doing what. |
| Actions taken to address the issue(s): |
The greatest challenge was digesting the information coming to us through news, internet, e-mails, conference calls, etc. and then determining what information to put out to the public and partner agencies.? Our epi branch and PIO were the busiest areas.? |
| Outcomes that resulted from actions taken: |
As of May 9, we do not have any confirmed cases is our county, but we have put in approximately 250 staff hours, equating to roughly $10,000 expense.? Other operating expenses have been minimal.? The RSS operation went smoothly, but we were surprised that the health care providers were not anxious to receive much of the supplies.? We are storing most of it.? I can't count how many meetings we have had with community leaders, other agencies, our own team, etc. |
