| Issue Summary: |
Ticket sytem for vaccine clinics prevents long wait lines |
| Description of Issue(s): |
We have a flu line open from 9 am to 5 pm M-F staffed by public health, volunteers, fire and rescue and office of emergency management. The flu line volume increases greatly the day before a mass clinic, for example, last Thursday the flu line had 777 calls from 9 am to 5 pm. Residents are extremely upset about having to stand in line for hours and being turned away due to not having enough vaccine although the clinic advertises in advance the target population and amount of vaccine available. |
| Actions taken to address the issue(s): |
We finally went with a ticket system so people standing in line were given a ticket for each person and once the tickets we all given out others were told that there no more vaccine. |
| Outcomes that resulted from actions taken: |
The tickets prevented people from staying in line for long periods of time and once they reach the front finding out that there was no more vaccine. |
