Native Americans are at 4X greater risk for potential impact from H1N1 but also lack access to insurance and medical care in the urban environment. They did not seem to show up at the public clinic we held nearest the population concentration in the City. |
| Actions taken to address the issue(s): |
We took advantage of the planned pow wow at the Minneapolis American Indian Center which is a community center in the heart of the Indian community of Minneapolis. We contract with the Native American Community Clinic and paid for them to set up and provide vaccinations at the pow wow.

| Outcomes that resulted from actions taken: |
We were able to vaccinate an additional 50 high risk individuals. We plan to continue to use the "Push" strategy--to go where targeted groups will also be gathering to deliver to vaccinations as a more effective method than "Pull" at this point. |
