CLIKS: Community-Level Data on Kids Annie E. Casey Foundation This Web site brings together data on the well-being of children collected by "KIDS COUNT" grantees from state and local sources. The unique system allows users to access state-specific inventories of data from local sources, such as health departments, human services agencies, and schools. The content of state pages is determined by a participating KIDS COUNT partner using data from local jurisdictions. Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR) The Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR), established in 1962, is an integral part of the infrastructure of social science research. ICPSR maintains and provides access to a vast archive of social science data for research and instruction, and offers training in quantitative methods to facilitate effective data use. To ensure that data resources are available to future generations of scholars, ICPSR preserves data, migrating them to new storage media as changes in technology warrant. In addition, ICPSR provides user support to assist researchers in identifying relevant data for analysis and in conducting their research projects. March of Dimes Developed by the March of Dimes Perinatal Data Center, the PeriStats Web site provides free access to U.S., state, county, and city maternal and infant health data. Pregnancy Risk Assessment Monitoring Survey (PRAMS) Center for Disease Control and Prevention PRAMS is a surveillance project of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and state health departments. PRAMS collects state-specific, population-based data on maternal attitudes and experiences before, during, and shortly after pregnancy. PRAMS data is available for external use. State and Local Area Integrated Telephone Survey (SLAITS) Centers for Disease Control and Prevention: National Center for Health Statistics The State and Local Area Integrated Telephone Survey (SLAITS) collects important healthcare data at state and local levels. This data collection mechanism was developed by the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) of the CDC. It supplements current national data collection strategies by providing in-depth state and local area data to meet various program and policy needs in an ever-changing healthcare system. Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance System (YRBS) Center for Disease Control and Prevention: National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion The YRBS monitors priority health risk behaviors that contribute markedly to the death, disability, and social problems among youth in the U.S. It includes national, state, and local school-based surveys or representative samples of 9th–12th grade students. The state and local surveys, conducted by the departments of health and education, provide data representative of the state and local district.
