NACCHO/NALBOH Sustaining Locals Program

Local coalitions have been a powerful and effective tool for mobilizing and empowering communities to address the burden of tobacco. Since 2008, NACCHO and the National Association of Local Boards of Health, with support from the CDC's Office on Smoking and Health, have supported local health departments and local boards of health with tobacco program planning and coalition building through funding, training, and technical assistance. Read more about the Sustaining Locals project and their successes here.

If you believe your local health department and community would benefit from the training, please contact Amy Henes.

Chronic Disease Prevention Toolkit

NACCHO''s Chronic Disease Prevention Project has collaborated with national organizations and the CDC''s National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion in an effort to connect local and state public health practitioners with publications, tools, and other resources related to chronic disease prevention and health promotion.

NACCHO welcomes any tools or resources you would like to share with local health departments. To submit a tool to the Chronic Disease Prevention Toolkit, please contact Camillia Easley.
