Frequently Asked Questions

What will the travel funding cover?

The funding support will cover travel (i.e. airline or train tickets) and lodging to the conference. No per diem will be provided or incidentals (i.e. airport parking, meals, taxi fare).

How will ground transportation between the airport and the hotel be arranged?

The conference Web site and travel information sent in advance will list several ground transportation options between the airport and hotel. You will be responsible for making arrangements and paying for local ground transportation. Ground transportation in Dallas will not be covered.

I am an MRC unit leader (coordinator/director), but I cannot attend. Can I send someone else to represent my unit?

Yes, MRC leaders are encouraged to send a representative from their unit if they are not able to attend. The designee will need your approval to receive the scholarship.

I am not an MRC unit leader (coordinator/director). Can I still attend this event?

MRC coordinators/directors (or their designees) and lead volunteers are encouraged to attend. However, only one leader (or designee) from the unit is eligible to receive the scholarship.

Business casual attire that is suitable for the climate. Temperatures in Dallas for April range from an average high of 77°F to an average low of 56°F. MRC attendees are encouraged to wear regalia that helps identify that they are affiliated with the MRC program. We are also planning for one day to be designated as “MRC Spirit Day.”

What if I cannot attend the entire event?

Scholarship recipients should plan to attend and participate in at least the main portion of the Integrated Training Summit (on April 5–8). MRC leaders should plan to arrive Sunday afternoon, April 5, to attend the MRC welcome and recognition event, which will be held that evening. Additional weekend workshops are available on April 4 and 5.
