OCVMRC Awards


 

 2011 OCVMRC Awards Community Resiliency – The Community Resiliency Award honors MRC units that have demonstrated resiliency at the community level over the past year.  

2011 Recipients:                     
Medical Reserve Corps of the West Central Region (MN)
Chicago Familia Latina Unida Medical Reserve Corps (IL) 

Ambassador – The Ambassador Award honors MRC units that have successfully carried out activities and initiatives over the past year that meet the Surgeon General Priorities of improving health literacy, increasing disease prevention, eliminating health disparities, and improving public health preparedness.

Green River District Medical Reserve Corps (KY)
Marin Medical Reserve Corps (CA)

Outstanding MRC Responder – The Outstanding MRC Responder Award honors MRC volunteers who have played an instrumental role in responding to a disaster or public health emergency on behalf of their MRC unit during the past year.

Vickie Carraher, Greene County Medical Reserve Corps (OH)
 Tony Carbone, Oklahoma Region 1 – Beckham County Medical Reserve Corps (OK)
Susan Vondracek, Medical Reserve Corps of Southern Nevada (NV)                                              

Outstanding MRC Public Health Volunteer – The Outstanding MRC Public Health Volunteer Award honors MRC volunteers who have been actively engaged in carrying out public health activities (or specific public health initiatives) during the past year. 

2011 Recipients:                     
Terry L. Strain, Northwest Louisiana Medical Reserve Corps (LA)
Judy Bencker, Eastern Nebraska/Western Iowa Medical Reserve Corps (NE/IA)

Outstanding MRC Housing Organization – The Outstanding MRC Housing Organization Award honors MRC Housing Organizations that have served as exemplary host agencies to the MRC and have successfully supported, advocated on behalf, and helped integrate the MRC into the local community's public health and preparedness infrastructure. 

2011 Recipients:               
Yuma County Public Health Services District (AZ)
Rhode Island Disaster Medical Assistance Team (RI) 

Outstanding MRC Partner Organization (or Partnership) – The Outstanding MRC Partner Organization Award honors MRC Partner Organizations (or Partnerships) that supported MRC units in carrying out their local missions and have provided MRC units with more opportunities to participate in public health, preparedness, and response activities. These exemplary partners have played a significant role in helping to raise MRC awareness and foster MRC integration into the local community's public health and preparedness infrastructure.

2011 Recipients:             
 Florida Bureau of Radiation Control (FL)
Davis County CERT (UT)

Innovator Award – The Innovator Award honors an MRC unit that has initiated and carried out a novel and innovative activity over the past year that has helped build on MRC unit and housing organization efforts, engaged unit volunteers in the process, and contributed to strengthening the community's public health, preparedness, and response system. 

2011 Recipients:               
Monmouth County Medical Reserve Corps (NJ)
Onslow County Medical Reserve Corps (NC)
Palatine Medical Reserve Corps (IL) 

Mentor Award – The Mentor Award honors an MRC unit that has successfully collaborated with other members of the MRC network over the past year to share practices, participate in activities, and carry out initiatives that have strengthened individual and collective groups of MRC units. 

2011 Recipient:              
Massachusetts Region 4A Medical Reserve Corps (MA)

MRC Picture of the Year – The MRC Picture of the Year Award honors MRC units who successfully captured their volunteers in action at trainings and events over the past year, while also promoting the MRC brand.
