STOCKbox Review
Got Tools?
STOCKbox is a dynamic resource designed to grow with the needs of local public health agencies. At NACCHO we are continually collecting preparedness and SNS-related tools and resources developed by local and state public health agencies, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and academic institutions in an effort to make STOCKbox a useful and valuable resource for public health agencies as they prepare their communities for an emergency. Click here for a printable informational card. If your agency has developed a tool and is willing to share it with your colleagues or you know of a tool that would be useful to the public health community, e-mail us at got_tools@naccho.org.
Additionally, NACCHO's SNS workgroup is carrying out an in-depth review of the tools currently in the STOCKbox to identify quality, current relevancy, and duplication issues. Please help us help you by using the rating system and comments box for tools you have downloaded. You can also e-mail us at got_tools@naccho.org for tools you would like to see included that are not yet available.
MRC and the SNS
NACCHO is working to strengthen the linkage between the Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) and Strategic National Stockpile planning to assist local jurisdictions' preparedness efforts by raising the visibility of the MRC at the recent Cities Readiness Initiative (CRI) regional meetings and the Regional SNS Preparedness Workshops. Additionally, NACCHO has developed the following informational resources that describe the SNS-MRC relationship and more specifically, the role MRC units can play to enhance local SNS planning and implementation.

The Strategic National Stockpile (SNS): A Reference for Local Planners
NACCHO recently updated The Strategic National Stockpile (SNS): A Reference for Local Planners, a brief guide for local health officials and their partners to assist them as they begin to develop an SNS distribution and dispensing plan for their community. (Click here to order hard copies.)
NACCHO developed this document using the CDC's Receiving, Distributing, and Dispensing the National Pharmaceutical Stockpile, A Guide for Planners (Version 9) as a framework. The document is a companion document to supplement Version 9.
