CEHA/PACE EH Demonstration Sites

NACCHO developed the Protocol for Assessing Community Excellence in Environmental Health (PACE EH) to help local communities identify and address environmental health priorities.

PACE EH was developed to address the following challenges identified by local health officials:

  • Accurate identification of environmental health issues at the community level;
  • Identification of populations at disproportionate risk for adverse health outcome;
  • Collection and analysis of meaningful environmental health data; and
  • Strategic allocation of resources to address pressing community environmental health concerns.

In response to the need for support, NACCHO implemented the PACE EH Demonstration Site Project to support interested users, provide additional material for PACE EH in Practice,and enhance the peer assistance network. NACCHO, with funding from the National Center for Environmental Health of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, awarded $20,000 to eight local health department demonstration sites.
