Foodborne Illness Systems Quinnipiack Valley (CT) Health DistrictBackground/Project Description Their project plans to improve the recognition, reporting and timeline for food borne illness investigation at the local health department level through the development of a model program. Major Objectives: Standardize the intake of food borne illness complaints and lab reports through the creation and training of an in house food borne illness reaction team; Develop educational program for public regarding food safety and food borne illness and proper reporting; Improve local provider differential diagnosis and reporting through dissemination of information concerning recognition, reporting and diagnosis; Create a GIS database of restaurant inspections that can be analyzed by attributes, spatially, and temporally Project Contact: Paul Fernald Sanitarian |
