NACCHO has worked to improve understanding of local food safety programs. Local health departments need electronic, streamlined, cost-effective management of inspections, inspection reports, and results. To address that need, NACCHO collaborated with Paragon and started as a Food Safety Inspection program, which soon evolved to support inspection programs for food establishments, swimming pools, septic tanks, and others. This NACCHO project is made possible through a partnership with Paragon Bermuda (Canada) Ltd., a consulting services firm that provides Web-based application design, development, testing, and implementation for a variety of environmental health programs including food safety, swimming pools, and septic tanks.
