National Disease Clusters Alliance (NDCA) The NDCA’s mission is to promote vibrant healthy communities through empowerment and supportive partnerships. It seeks to educate and assist communities potentially affected by disease clusters to (a) identify emerging disease clusters; (b) improve existing infrastructure, procedures, and policies that deal with disease clusters; and (c) use the support and resources of government agencies and other sources to identify the causes of emerging disease clusters. In support of its mission, the NDCA will create a linking system, acting as a liaison among communities, academia, and governmental agencies. NDCA will connect with CDC's five Centers for Excellence and will partner with or facilitate communications among communities, schools of public health nationwide, and with governmental agencies state-by-state and at the federal level. NDCA comprises groups that are committed to the rapid response and action steps necessary when communities pose concerns of emerging disease clusters. The impact of such response will be the prevention of unnecessary disease and death. Contact: |
