Partners in Program Planning for Adolescent Health (PIPPAH)

PIPPAH promotes a comprehensive adolescent health agenda for professionals serving adolescents and their families. Partner organizations conduct activities to increase awareness of adolescent health issues and to promote the adoption of positive youth development approaches to adolescent health programming. Using a multidisciplinary approach to address adolescent health issues, PIPPAH partners regularly share expertise and collaborate with one another on joint activities at the national level.

The 21 Critical Health Objectives for Adolescents and Young Adults of Healthy People 2010 serves as a framework for addressing select adolescent health issues.

As a PIPPAH partner, NACCHO works to achieve the following goals:

  • strengthen NACCHO infrastructure and capacity for addressing adolescent health issues;
  • build the capacity of local health departments to identify and address adolescent health needs in their communities; and
  • collaborate with national, state, and local organizations to communicate the importance of adolescent health.
PIPPAH is a five-year cooperative agreement with the Health Resources and Services Administration, Maternal and Child Health Bureau's Office of Adolescent Health, and NACCHO.
