The annual NPHPSP Training Workshop is designed to train local public health staff to guide other public health professionals and partner organizations in completing the National Public Health Performance Standards Instruments and conducting performance improvement activities. In addition, a MAPP training typically follows the annual NPHPSP training for those participants who would like to know more about MAPP, and better understand the linkages between these two tools.

Who should attend: The workshop is designed for new users of the NPHPSP and NPHPSP users that are engaged in performance improvement activities.
Benefits of attending: At the end of the workshop, participants should be able to:
- Understand the various approaches for structuring the NPHPSP assessment process, implementing the standards, and coordinating a performance improvement effort;
- Identify the benefits of using the NPHPSP;
- Implement, lead and organize a coordinated statewide performance assessment approach;
- Identify technical assistance resources of national partner organizations; and
- Understand the relationship between the NPHPSP and concepts of public health improvement, including the use of the NPHPSP results/data to drive performance improvement.
