Quality Improvement Resources
|
According to a recent RAND study, "The term quality improvement has been used... in various fields to refer to a range of strategies and techniques designed to set goals, measure performance, and apply systematic changes to improve performance and quality.” |
The concept of quality improvement (QI) continues to gain momentum in public health as health departments work toward meeting performance standards and begin to position themselves to participate in accreditation efforts. These resources are intended to inform your quality and performance improvement efforts.
Embracing Quality in Local Public Health: Michigan’s Quality Improvement Guidebook
This guidebook was developed as a product of Michigan’s involvement in the Multi-State Learning Collaborative project. This guidebook is intended for individuals and/or teams to begin or advance their use of a QI model to improve public health practice and move toward improving outcomes. The Guidebook has utility within the context of accreditation or performance assessment programs, but may be used absent that context to improve the quality of any public health process, program, organizational capacity, or systems effort.
