Accreditation and Quality Improvement

The Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB) is developing a voluntary national accreditation program for state, local, territorial, and Tribal health departments. NACCHO provides tools, resources, and training opportunities to local health departments (LHDs) to assist in their preparation for accreditation, and in using quality improvement processes to improve performance and meet PHAB standards.

PHAB Beta Test Letter of Invitation Released: Apply Today!

LHDs have a critical role to play in the development of the voluntary national accreditation program before its launch in 2011. NACCHO encourages LHDs to apply to participate in PHAB's Beta Test. This is an exciting opportunity for LHDs to inform national accreditation as they work toward improving the health of the communities they serve. Learn more about the Beta Test and how to apply by viewing the full Letter of Invitation from PHAB. Applications are being accepted now through August 14, 2009.
