NPHPSP and MAPP Annual Training
Dallas, TX
From:
04/13/10 8:00 AM
To:
04/16/10 5:00 PM

The National Public Health Performance Standards Program (NPHPSP) partnership coordinates a national training for potential, new, and experienced local, state, and governance NPHPSP instrument users. Following the two-day NPHPSP training, local instrument users can learn how to apply their NPHPSP data toward action by attending a two-day Mobilizing for Action through Planning and Partnerships (MAPP) training.

The NPHPSP training will teach participants to

  • Structure the NPHPSP assessment process, implement the assessment, and use the results to coordinate performance improvement efforts;
  • Identify the features and benefits of NPHPSP Version 2 instruments;
  • Identify the planning, implementation, and performance improvement technical assistance resources available through national partner organizations;
  • Understand the relationship between the NPHPSP and related national initiatives including accreditation and MAPP; and
  • Assess readiness for implementing the NPHPSP, and identify implementation challenges and possible solutions.

The MAPP training will help participants understand

  • Why MAPP is a long-term, system-wide paradigm shift in public health practice;
  • How to begin the MAPP process;
  • The phases of MAPP;
  • The relationship between MAPP and NPHPSP; and
  • Where to find MAPP resources and technical assistance.
