On Monday, July 19, the U.S. Government Accountability Office released a nearly 500-page report on the federal government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic and issued a series of recommendations designed to bring an end to the pandemic and strengthen national preparedness for future health emergencies.
On Tuesday, the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee held a hearing on the federal response to the COVID-19 pandemic, joined by Dr. Rochelle Walensky of the CDC, Anthony Fauci of the CDC, Janet Woodcock of the FDA, and Dawn O’Connell, the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness of Response.
On Thursday, June 10, the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Agriculture, Rural Development, and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) chaired by Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D-WI), held a hearing entitled, “Fiscal Year 2022 Budget Request for the Food and Drug Administration.”
