NACCHO, in collaboration with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other state and local partners, is hosting a full-day radiological/nuclear preparedness and response workshop on Monday, April 28, in San Antonio, TX. This is offered as a pre-conference workshop for about 70 attendees in advance of the 2025 Preparedness Summit. Applications for workshop attendees and Travel Awards are now being accepted.
About the Workshop
Planning for high consequence, catastrophic events is crucial regardless of their low probability. This workshop offers insights from emergency preparedness professionals and federal partners engaged in radiation preparedness who recognize their collaborative efforts are vital for preparedness, response, and recovery planning.
This interactive workshop also offers justification for why robust radiation recovery planning and exercising are essential. It provides resources currently used by emergency and public health planners to bridge knowledge gaps and improve their existing radiation recovery planning and exercising programs.
Workshop Travel Awards
NACCHO’s Radiation Team is offering up to 10 travel awards for emergency and public health planners with various radiological/nuclear preparedness and response experience. The travel awards cover the following:
- Preparedness Summit registration
- Round trip airfare
- Hotel accommodations (up to five nights: April 27-May 1)
- Per diem for meals not provided during the conference or workshop
