NACCHO, in collaboration with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), is hosting a pre-conference workshop at the 2023 Preparedness Summit focusing on Medical Counter Measures (MCM). The workshop is on Sunday, April 23, 1:00-4:00 PM, in Atlanta, GA. Competitive travel awards are available for a limited number of workshop participants.
This workshop will focus on MCMs used in COVID-19 and Mpox response. Participants in this workshop must have experience working with MCMs in either or both responses. Timely, safe, and effective utilization of MCM are critical components during a public health emergency involving a high-consequence threat or an emerging infectious disease, such as COVID-19 and Mpox. The workshop will focus on facilitated discussion between peers to capture best practices and lessons learned from the real-world use of MCMs. Information from the workshop will be used to inform opportunities for new and additional integration and collaboration across the MCM response spectrum. Results will also be used to enhance MCM response across different threats (e.g., anthrax, botulism, smallpox, Ebola) and MCM categories (e.g., drugs, biologics, vaccines).
