The Preparedness Policy Advisory Group (PPAG) is NACCHO’s overarching preparedness workgroup that provides feedback and comments on a variety of federal public health preparedness policy issues and initiatives to strengthen the voice of local health departments (LHDs) on national policy issues related to the planning, response, and recovery from disasters and other emergencies. The main goals of this workgroup are to:
- Enhance the capability LHDs to prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters and other public health emergencies by providing feedback on preparedness practice and policy, as well as direction on oversight on NACCHO’s Preparedness advisory groups
- Provide input to NACCHO’s Preparedness Committee to help inform the organization’s position on a variety of high-level initiatives
- Improve LHD community preparedness and recovery capacity by promoting new and existing related resources, tools, and best practices.
