NACCHO staff participated in the Directors of Public Health Preparedness meeting in Washington, DC, October 7-9. The purpose of the meeting was to allow for the preparedness directors from state health departments to engage with the leadership of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Division of State and Local Readiness and the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response. There were also a number of presentations from representatives from Texas and Arizona on their respective responses to Ebola and the large number of unaccompanied minors crossing the U.S. border.
