On October 24-26th, 2017, the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO) hosted the annual Directors of Public Health Preparedness (DPHP) Annual Meeting. The meeting brings together preparedness directors from the states and directly funded cities as well as federal agencies and partner organizations to discuss state-level preparedness priorities. Topics discussed included recent hurricane responses, opioid abuse prevention and response, public health and healthcare preparedness funding, radiological and nuclear preparedness, and the National Health Security Preparedness Index. NACCHO participated in the meeting to represent the voice of local health departments and identify opportunities for on-going engagement and collaboration between state and local health departments and associations For additional information, visit ASTHO’s webpage or contact NACCHO’s preparedness team at [email protected].
