Child Care Aware of America (CCAoA), in partnership with NACCHO and Penn State University Extension - Better Kid Care, recently released Collaborating for Child Well-being: A Toolkit for Local Health Departments and Early Care and Education Programs. This comprehensive toolkit equips local health departments (LHDs) and early care and education (ECE) providers with practical guidance, tools, and resources to initiate, build, and sustain successful partnerships that promote child health and family well-being.
The toolkit offers structured steps for:
- Initiating conversations and establishing partnerships
- Defining clear goals, roles, and communication plans
- Implementing evidence-based strategies to improve child health outcomes
- Sustaining partnerships through continuous communication, evaluation, and adaptation
Designed to support both new and existing collaborations, this toolkit includes actionable steps, customizable templates, and real-world examples to guide users through each phase of partnership development—from assessing readiness to evaluating impact. This toolkit was informed by the LHD and ECE community. While the toolkit is a robust compilation of resources and organized framework, CCAoA strives to develop tools and resources that are of most use to the networks that will utilize them. After downloading and viewing the toolkit, please be sure to complete the Feedback Form. This form will be used to further enhance the toolkit.
