Call for Papers: Monitoring Disparities in Prevention and Treatment of HIV, Viral Hepatitis, STDs, and TB

Oct 05, 2017 | Kim Rodgers

The American Journal of Public Health (AJPH) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Center for HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, STD, and TB Prevention (NCHHSTP), plan to publish a theme issue on applying methods, metrics, and indicators for measuring disparities in health outcomes and risk behaviors for the prevention and treatment of HIV, sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), viral hepatitis, and tuberculosis (TB) in the United States.

The journal is seeking original research articles, brief reports, systematic reviews, commentaries, analytic or historical essays, and public health practice reports related to methods, metrics, and indicators for preventing and treating HIV, STDs, viral hepatitis, and TB and for promoting adolescent and school health. Papers should describe trends in health disparities in the United States (using data that includes 2015 or later); describe, apply, or compare methods for measuring the quantity of disparity (differences) in health outcomes or risk behaviors among segments of the US population; or focus on metrics or methods for monitoring and interpreting temporal trends in health disparities in the United States.

Authors should visit http://www.ajph.org for Instructions for Authors and specific guidelines regarding manuscript types. All manuscripts will undergo AJPH’s standard review process. Authors should submit their papers by January 31, 2018, to AJPH’s online system. The anticipated publication date for the supplement is November 2018. For additional information about this supplement, please e-mail oheinquiries@cdc.gov.
